We have so many thumb drives/ usb sticks lying around and for a homeless person they are the difference between survival and death.

With these they can carry their Resumes, important documents and photos.

I personally know how important technology is to the homeless, without my laptop that was given as a gift I wouldn’t be here.I couldn’t blog, find places to stay and reach out for help when I needed it.

Technology is powerful and to deny those who need it most is shameful, because we feel they have misplaced priorities.

Here is what you can do:

• Hand out your unused drives when you see a homeless person
• Start a “Thumbs Up Drive” for your local shelter or homeless services
• Mail the drives to make sure they are handed out

p.s make sure you erase all data of the device, there is a lot of freeware out there that does the job properly
